In Colors - OnStage Swaps - Stampin' Up! Products

Do you ever look at the catalogue and think: "I love everything!" Well, so do I. Of course, we have to make choices and can't everything. The closest thing you can do to "have everything", is to participate in swaps. Demonstrators often participate in swaps, and OnStage is a great occasion to participate, as we meet hundreds of other demonstrators.
A swap is when each person will use make a card in multiple copies, then swap with other demonstrators, so that you end up with a stack of cards in all sorts of designs, colours, and techniques. Because everyone used different products, you get to have cards using products that you don't have.

For last month's OnStage, I chose to use the InColors that were returning and the coordinating Designer Series Paper (this one retiring at the end of the month). I love the Crafting Forever stamp set, the sentiments are very fun and I played on the "cut out" phrase by adding a diagonal cut through the DSP nad using the scissors stamp. It was so easy to mix and match the DSP with all the colours, while keeping the same design for all the cards.

For the metallic thread, I looped them several times around my fingers, in a figure 8 shape, and adhered them with some snail adhesive. I popped up the circle wih Dimensionals over it.
For the DSP, I cut it down at 1/2" shorter than the cardbase and just put in on my Stampin' Trimmer and cut diagonally. It didn't all have to be exactly the same, so I eyeballed it. The strip of paper is 1-1/2" wide and as long as the cardbase. I stamped the scissors on it, alternating the direction and making sure to go over the paper. That's really all there is to that card! It would be easy to recreate it with any DSP and in any colour!

I highly recommend this stamp set, it has really fun images and sayings, plus, it is the Angel Policy Stamp Set, which means it includes a copyright Stampin' Up! stamp that allows you to sell the cards you make. I'd love to see your own cards made with that stamp set or using that same layout. Feel free to share in comments!

Nature's Poem Card Stack using Stampin' Up! products

I am in love with the Nature's Poem suite! Look at those gorgeous colours, those soft natural images, and those amazing patterns! It is exactly my style and I was SO excited when I saw it. I just had to order the whole suite. (See it on p.142-144 of the Annual Catalogue) The suite includes: a double stamp set (10 images + 6 sentiments), coordinating Framelit Dies, 4 colour Twine pack, Silver and Copper metallic leaf trinkets, Cardstock Pack, and the Designer Series Paper. Shop the products  here.    I decided to make a whole stack of cards with the suite, using two basic designs. It is so easy to mix and match products and colours from the suite, that I was able to create several cards very easily. I chose to work with 4 different coulours (Tranquil Tide, Cajun Craze, Grapefruit Grove, Soft Suede) but there are so many other beautiful colours in this suite! For the card design above, I cut the DSP into a mat size (4 x 5-1/4) and for the card design ...

When you first discover the world of scrapbook and cardmaking, your first thought is probably, "Where was this all my life?" But also, "Where do I start?" I'll admit, it can be a little overwhelming, and you feel like you need to get SO MANY things before you can even make a card. And then, you are still not sure how to go about creating a card. I get it, I've been there. This is why I decided to offer a class for beginners a few weeks ago, where I would focus on some card basics.  This is one of two cards we made that night. At first glance, you  might think that this card doesn't look so simple, because there are a lot of pieces on it, but the secret is in the coordination. Stampin' Up! is really the champion of coordinating products, and all the products you see on this card are part of the same product suite Coffee Break. So really, you can look at only 2 pages of the catalogue, pick all the products that coordinate, and you just KNOW yo...

Stampin' Up! is known for their extensive colour collections and coordination. We have 4 families of 10 unique, gorgeous colours: Neutrals, Regals, Brights, and Subtles. To add variety and ensure they are always on trend, Stampin' Up! also releases 5 new colours every year, for a period of 2 years, we call those InColors. Discovering what will be the 5 new colours chosen every year is always a very exciting time for demonstrators and other enthusiast. These colors are revealed with the annual catalogue, in July.  This year's colours are: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel. They are very bright and lively colours, and they go together very well, which isn't always the purpose of these additions. I usually change my mind on which one is my favourite over time, but for now, I really love the shade of Grapefruit Grove. I wanted to make a sample of cards to showcase these new colours, and chose to make small...
