 I am in love with the Nature's Poem suite! Look at those gorgeous colours, those soft natural images, and those amazing patterns! It is exactly my style and I was SO excited when I saw it. I just had to order the whole suite. (See it on p.142-144 of the Annual Catalogue) The suite includes: a double stamp set (10 images + 6 sentiments), coordinating Framelit Dies, 4 colour Twine pack, Silver and Copper metallic leaf trinkets, Cardstock Pack, and the Designer Series Paper. Shop the products  here.    I decided to make a whole stack of cards with the suite, using two basic designs. It is so easy to mix and match products and colours from the suite, that I was able to create several cards very easily. I chose to work with 4 different coulours (Tranquil Tide, Cajun Craze, Grapefruit Grove, Soft Suede) but there are so many other beautiful colours in this suite! Usually, I plan which products I want to buy based on my upcoming classes, or on the projects I will need it for. That's how I decide what I'm getting versus what I want  to buy (which is almost everything!) But, every now and then, there is a stamp set that I just have to have; it was the case for this Magical Mermaid stamp set. So I did, and then it stayed on my shelf for several months. I just did not know what to do with it. I loved the images, but I couldn't come up with a card design with it. I just felt like something was missing. Until, I saw the special article about shaker cards in the demonstrator publication of Stampin' Success. There was a shaker card using the mermaid and I knew it was the perfect way to use her! I had even been planning to make some shaker cards, since I had circle foam dimensionals and sequins left from previous Paper Pumpkin kits. So here is my version of the shaker card with the mermaid. Do you know what "cluster cards" are? It's a style where you put several stamps and die cut pieces around a central point (usually the sentiment), and it forms a cluster. It's a style I have found I love to make. This card is a good example of that. I have stamped, die cut or fussy cut several pieces and adhered them around the sentiment. There is also a piece of DSP across the card base, with some tone on tone stamping peeking out from under it. To add interest and depth, some pieces are adhere directly to the card, some are popped up with dimensionals. Some pieces are partly hidden under the circle and some are in front. Because this type of card can quickly become too busy, I made sure to leave a big blank space at the bottom; which created a big colour block with the cardbase.
